The Saskatchewan-Alberta Tie Line (SATL) project is a proposed 150MW back-to-back electric transmission link between the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, to be located in the Lloydminster region. This would be the second interconnection between Alberta and Saskatchewan.
SATL is anticipated to provide regional reinforcement alternatives, enhanced reliability to both Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as increased operational flexibility to manage the integration of greater renewable energy in both provinces.
SATL is intended to be offered to potential customers through an open season process. Initial discussions are taking place with existing transmission owners and other stakeholders in the affected areas.
